When determining what stone to select, one must first decide which type of natural stone is most suitable for the specific project at hand. All types of stone may be used for both interior and exterior applications; nevertheless, they are not equally durable. Each type of natural stone possesses different qualities and characteristics making that type more appropriate for certain projects. There are common misconceptions about Granite. Upon delivery to Marble Essence, granite slabs are approximately 60" x 120", and range in cost depending on availability and working capabilities. Marble slabs, however, are delivered in smaller slabs approximately 4' x 9'. Many of the softer natural stones are in fact delivered in the smaller slab size. Nonetheless tiles for flooring are available in standard sizes ranging from 12" x 12" to 24" x 24" and can be ordered for nearly every type of natural stone.

When shopping for any type of natural stone, the most difficult decision is choosing among the available colors and styles. Once that decision has been made, however, you will need to decide on the details of your particular project. Such decisions include choosing the thickness, edging and finish of the stone.

When you are ready to purchase your natural stone, you will need to fax us a sketch of your project needs or simply stop in our show room with information. We then estimate the cost of templating, fabricating, sealing, and installing the stone. Once the final decisions have been completed, you are put on our schedule within the next 2 to 12 weeks, depending on the time of year and number of jobs in progress.

Our templaters will visit your home on a scheduled date to take measurements. After templating, your project is refigured in case there were errors in the initial sketch of the project. Fabrication begins and ranges between 1 to 4 weeks, after which time your natural stone is ready to be installed. Again, the date of installation is scheduled with you. Our installers will need approximately 2 to 8 hours on average to complete the project. Also at this time, you must be present for inspection of the job as final payment on your bill will be due. After waiting 24 hours, you may have the plumber return to install any plumbing needs.
